Terms of Service
Last updated: June 20, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Alatas Software, a company registered in the Netherlands (KvK no. [KvK number], registered office at [registered address]) (“Devmailr”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). They govern your access to and use of the Devmailr website, web application, and API (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
1. Definitions
- “Account” means the account you register to access the Service.
- “Mailbox” means a temporary email address in the form prefix@devmailr.app created through the Service.
- “Content” means email messages and data delivered to or stored within your Mailboxes.
- “API Key” means a credential issued to you for programmatic access to the Service.
2. The Service
Devmailr provides temporary, developer-oriented email inboxes accessible via a REST API and a web dashboard. It is designed for individuals and teams who need disposable addresses for testing email flows, CI pipelines, and integrations — not for production user communication, as a permanent inbox replacement, or for receiving sensitive personal, financial, or confidential information. Mailboxes and their Content are temporary and are deleted automatically according to the retention period of your plan.
3. Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and API Keys and for all activity that occurs under your Account.
Sharing account credentials with multiple people is not permitted; please issue API Keys if you need team or automated access. Notify us promptly at hello@devmailr.app if you suspect any unauthorised use of your Account.
4. Acceptable Use & Fair Use Policy
Plan limits (mailbox counts, retention periods) are designed to prevent abuse and to keep the service fast and reliable for everyone. They are not a form of metered billing, and typical developer usage will never come close to them. The following uses are prohibited on any plan:
- Reselling or sublicensing: You may not resell, sublicense, or otherwise provide Devmailr addresses or API access to third parties as a standalone product or as part of a competing service.
- Building a multi-tenant temp-mail layer: Operating a public or multi-tenant disposable-email service on top of Devmailr — i.e., brokering Devmailr inboxes to end-users who have no Devmailr account — is not permitted.
- Spam traps and list-bombing: Using Devmailr mailboxes as spam traps, honeypots, or targets for email list-bombing campaigns at scale is prohibited.
- Circumventing plan limits: Creating multiple accounts to exceed plan limits, or repeatedly creating and deleting mailboxes to stay below a threshold while effectively having more capacity, violates fair use.
- Impersonation: Registering mailbox prefixes to impersonate individuals, organisations, or services (e.g., support@, abuse@, official brand names) without authorisation is prohibited.
- Unlawful or harmful activity: You may not use the Service to violate any applicable law, infringe intellectual property rights, distribute malware, or attempt to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure.
Enforcement
Devmailr may throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate fair use. Where practical we will notify you and allow a reasonable opportunity to remedy the issue. Serious or repeat violations may result in immediate termination without prior notice.
5. Plans, Billing & Refunds
Devmailr offers a free plan and paid subscription plans (Indie and Pro). Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the applicable fees to your chosen payment method until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time from your billing settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until then. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or as expressly stated in these Terms. As a goodwill measure, paid plans may be refunded pro-rata where extended service outages occur — contact us.
We may change our prices or plan features. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes, and price changes take effect at your next renewal.
6. “Unlimited” Mailboxes and Soft Caps
The Pro plan advertises “unlimited mailboxes.” In practice, a default soft cap of 200 concurrent mailboxes applies per account. This cap exists solely to protect the service against accidental runaway scripts or deliberate abuse — it is far above what any single developer project should need in normal operation.
If your legitimate use case requires more than 200 concurrent mailboxes, reach out. We raise the limit on a per-account basis upon reasonable request with no additional charge. There is no hidden tier or upsell for this.
Free and Indie plan mailbox limits are hard limits enforced by the API and are not adjustable.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, and trademarks, is owned by Alatas Software and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You retain ownership of any Content delivered to your Mailboxes. We do not claim ownership of your Content and do not read, sell, or share it; see our Privacy Policy for how we handle data.
8. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Because Mailboxes are disposable and temporary, you should not use them to receive sensitive personal data or information you cannot afford to lose, as Content is automatically deleted according to your plan’s retention period.
9. Disclaimers & Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that messages will always be received or retained. Free-tier accounts carry no uptime guarantee. To the maximum extent permitted by law, any statutory warranties that cannot be excluded are limited in duration to the minimum period permitted.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Devmailr and Alatas Software will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service during that period, or (b) €50. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Devmailr and Alatas Software from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
12. Suspension & Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your Account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends and your Account data and Content may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law — will continue to apply.
13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict of law rules. The competent courts of the Netherlands will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except where mandatory consumer protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes we will provide reasonable notice where practicable. Continued use of Devmailr after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
